Safeguarding and Welfare
At Waterbeach Colts FC, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you're a parent, coach, volunteer, player, or visitor, we all play a part in keeping children and young people safe.
We are committed to creating a safe, positive environment where every child can enjoy football in a secure and supportive setting. We follow the guidance and rules set out by The Football Association (FA) to ensure our club meets the highest standards of safeguarding.
Our commitment
We make sure that:
-
All coaches and volunteers working with children have an FA DBS check.
-
Coaches complete FA-approved safeguarding training.
-
Everyone involved in the club understands how to recognise and report concerns.
-
Children know who to speak to if they feel worried or unsafe.
What can you do?
Everyone can help make football safe and fun for children:

Coaches
Keep your safeguarding training up to date and always put the child’s welfare first.
Players
Speak up if you ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe – we will always listen.
